As a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, you'll experience ongoing training and development throughout your career. Many of the training programs and workshops incorporate best practices from top branch teams at Edward Jones as well as other organizations.
In order to build your practice, we'll provide training to help you:
- Create clients
- Serve clients
- Lead your branch team
- Improve your branch's efficiency
You'll learn about different client acquisition strategies that can be tailored to your situation and your location. You'll also be expected to develop a strategic business plan that outlines the goals and activities you'll commit to in order to build your practice. These key steps are crucial for your professional development and must be completed so that you can begin to identify and recommend solutions for clients' financial needs.
Although most of your training and development will occur in your local market, you'll periodically travel to an Edward Jones training center for classroom-style lectures and workshops with other Financial Advisors. These in-person sessions provide a great opportunity to interact, collaborate and brainstorm with your peers from across the country.
- Know Your Client is a four and a half day program. The classroom instruction is combined with interactive exercises to help ensure you understand the critical activities required to build a successful practice. It also shows you how to build relationships and identifying prospective clients' needs and concerns.
- Launch Your Practice is a three and a half day program. The program expands upon the foundation built in Know Your Client with the primary focus to build your practice. Developing relationships with prospective clients, continued development of communications and solutions based knowledge will help you create and serve clients.
- Practice Development Program is a two and a half day course. The classroom instruction, along with interactive exercises and phone sessions, help enhance and refine your skills used in appointment and phone contacts.
Resources to help you succeed
Throughout your entire career, you will have access to multiple resources from our headquarters and from your peers in your region. This includes access to professional coaching following your instructor led sessions and at other key milestones of your career. Your coach will support the integration of your strengths and learnings into your practice. Other resources will include both home office and field consultants who will assist you as you build a professional practice at Edward Jones.
